Chordle is coming to Android, and we’re looking for beta testers to help us get it ready for release. If you’re comfortable running pre-release software and want to help out, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be testing
The Android version is the same app you already know from Windows, running on your phone or tablet. Syncing works across devices, so by signing into the same account on your Android device and your Windows PC, you’ll have access to all your songs and set lists on both platforms.
Any issues you encounter can be reported in the usual ways.
How subscriptions work during the beta
The Android version will require a subscription through the Play Store. (Because cross-licensing isn’t supported, a previous Windows purchase won’t automatically unlock the Android app).
We don’t expect you to pay to help us test though. To make testing completely free, we will provide a promo code that gives you a free 3-month trial. Because of how the Play Store works, you will just need to cancel the trial before it ends so you aren’t charged. Alternatively you can cancel the subscription at any time during the trial and it will continue until the end of the 3 months. Of course, if you want to continue using the app after the trial ends, you can allow the subscription to continue.
How to apply
Email us at info@chordle.com letting us know the email address associated with your Google Play account.
We want to make sure it works well across as many devices as possible so if you can let us know which device(s) you’ll be testing on, that’s a big help - it lets us work out how much device coverage we have and make sure we’re testing across a good range of hardware.
Once you’re signed up, we’ll send you everything you need to get started, including your free-trial code.
Thanks for helping out - your feedback makes a real difference.
